Beginner Punchneedle Class
The Beginner Punchneedle Class will be taught by Jo Wick of Jo’s Folk Art Fibers (follow her on facebook). This class will offer the basics of punchneedle and Jo will give you some of her helpful tips to make punching a success for you!
Jo is an accomplished teacher that has taught many classes, has been published in magazines, and received top awards for her exquisite work in punchneedle.
The cost of the class will be $55 and that will include your kit (pattern and thread), instructions, and lunch!

Glamping Retreat
Glamping is bucket list worthy! It is a wonderful weekend of relaxing, creating, fun times, good food, and meeting new people. Campers are set up with all of the modern conveniences (yes, there are bathrooms complete with hot running water in the showers), ready for you to stay the weekend. Activities are planned, this years activity will be flower making, so you can choose to participate or just sit and hook/punch/create. A good time is had by all and you can just plan on being pampered for the weekend! Night time activities may include a camp fire and/or hayride, if you choose to participate. So come and join us for this great experience at The Wooly Horse! Cost is $300 for the weekend, or day fee of $30.

“The 3rd annual Memorial Hook-In, celebrating our beloved Dawn Hiemstra.” We are excited to be back at the Cherry Valley Hotel. This location has everything we need on site. Food, hotel, hooking and if you decide to venture out, it is minutes from Granville and Columbus, Ohio. We think you will be happy with this wonderful winter hooking venue. Two classes wil be offered this year: 1. Jo Wick will be teaching a punchneedle class and 2. Jenny Smallridge will be teaching a hand-torn rug hooking class featuring 3-D Bee Skeps (small, medium or large). Class Fee will be $25 plus the kit cost for both classes. Students must have a basic knowledge of punching or hooking.
Registration begins March 11, 2023 and will end January 1, 2024. Follow The Dawn Hiemstra Memorial Hook-In on facebook for registration info. and updates, or contact Melissa Maxwell.
Cost of the Hook-In is $150 (includes hook-in and 5 meals), day passes are $50 and include breakfast and lunch.

Create Day - Snowman Day
Create Day is just that! Come and bring your ideas and create a perfect snowman! We get together and share ideas and supplies and then begin creating snowmen or snowwomen!!! Bring supplies, a snack and share the festive spirit with others! I will have a pot of soup on for lunch, hope you can come and join us for a day of chasing away the winter blahs!

Punchneedle a Name Tag Class
Punch needle class with Jo Wick. Class participants will be punching a Name Tag using a Punch needle and Valdani pearl cotton thread with additional instructions on finishing techniques to complete their own personal name tag. Basic punch needle skills are required!
Kit description: Approximate 3 1/2” x 4” pattern of choice drawn on 14” square of weavers cloth, Valdani threads to complete the project, wool backing, batting insert, and a pin or magnet for the back of the tag.
Students need to bring: Ultra Punch Needle with medium tip needle, needle threader, small embroidery scissors, a small 11 - 12” gripper frame or 10” Morgan locking-lip hoop. **A gripper frame is preferred, Jo will have a few you would be able to use if requested prior to class event!
Cost of class is $75. Includes class instructions, kit and lunch at The Wooly Horse.
Each attendee will be able to choose from designs that will be offered by Jo once you have signed up!

The Beginner Punchneedle class will give you the basics of learning punchneedle. This class includes; punchneedle, pattern, thread and lunch. There will be beginner patterns to choose from on the registration form.

3-D Standing Snowman Class
This is a one day class with Chrisi Koehl that will guide you through creating a 3-D standing snowman and finishing techniques. Size and technique of hooking will be your choice, Chrisi will guide you through assembling and finishing the project. Students will have a choice of bringing their own light colored wools or request full kit with hand dyed wool included. The size of the finished project is 7’’ wide x 23” tall with the front being hooked and the back will be a piece of wool stitched on. Lunch will be included in your day at The Wooly Horse.
Basic rug hooking and sewing skills are required for this class.
Cost of class is $35 plus cost of kit.

Christmas Open House is a day of shopping at The Wooly Horse, keep your eyes open for sale items and new Christmas/Winter patterns. Come and join in on the excitement and enjoy some hot cider, snacks and cookies while you shop.
Creating Day
Today is for creating flowers, trees, santas, pumpkins, bittersweet, holly branches, vines pretty much any idea you have! This is a day for people to come and share ideas and kinships. I have several sizzix dies that I have not even used yet for flower making and wanted to share them. I have 3 hot glue guns that will be heated and ready to use. There will also be lots of scraps of linen for your use, (left over from pattern making).
I will have a pot of soup on for lunch.
You can bring a snack to share and any making/creating supplies that you have to bring your ideas to life!!!
